Ingredients

  • 1 lb Yellow split peas
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard (soy-free)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Thyme
  • 2 cups Diced ham (soy-free)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Marjoram

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse split peas thoroughly. In a large pot, combine peas, water, salt, onion, thyme and marjoram.
  2. 2Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the peas are very tender and the soup has thickened.
  3. 3Stir in diced ham during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  4. 4Serve hot with a dollop of soy-free mustard.
