Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried peaches (huesillos)
  • 1/2 cup Husked wheat (mote)
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 small Cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. 1Soak the dried peaches in water overnight.
  2. 2Cook the husked wheat according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. 3In a large pot, combine the soaked peaches with their soaking water. Add more water to make 6 cups total.
  4. 4Add sugar and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. 5Let cool completely. Remove the cinnamon stick.
  6. 6To serve, place a few spoonfuls of cooked wheat and 2-3 peaches in each glass. Top with the peach syrup.
  7. 7Serve chilled.
