Ingredients

  • 2 cups Canned Fava Beans
  • 1/4 cup Tahini (Sesame Paste)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 package Pita Bread

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1Drain the 2 cups of canned fava beans using a colander, then rinse them under cool running water for about 30 seconds.
  2. 2Transfer the rinsed 2 cups of fava beans to a food processor. Add the 1/4 cup of tahini, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 cloves of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the food processor.
  3. 3Process the mixture on high speed for 2 to 4 minutes, or until it is completely smooth and creamy. Stop the food processor and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. 4Remove the food processor blade. Add the 1/4 cup of fresh parsley to the fava bean mixture and stir it in by hand with a spoon or spatula until it is evenly distributed.
  5. 5Preheat your oven to 175°C. Place the 1 package of pita bread directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet and heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the pita bread is soft and warm to the touch.
  6. 6Serve the Fool Madamis immediately with the warm pita bread for dipping.
