  • 3 cups Water
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 tablespoons Dairy-Free Butter Substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Berbere Spice Blend
  • 0.5 teaspoon Niter Kibbeh Spice Blend (substitute)

Instructions

  1. 1In a saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil.
  2. 2Gradually whisk in barley flour, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. 3Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until the porridge thickens and becomes smooth.
  4. 4While the porridge is cooking, melt dairy-free butter substitute in a separate small pan.
  5. 5Stir in berbere spice blend and Niter Kibbeh Spice Blend substitute and heat through.
