Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Vegan butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon Hazelnut extract
  • 2 tablespoons Almond milk

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a madeleine pan.
  2. 2In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, whisk together melted vegan butter, sugar, applesauce, hazelnut extract, and almond milk.
  4. 4Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Fill each madeleine mold about 3/4 full.
  6. 6Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. 7Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
