Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Dairy-Free Puff Pastry
  • 500 g Ground Pork
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Sage
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to about 205°C (200°C).
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine the 500 g Ground Pork, 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs, 1/2 Onion (finely chopped), 2 cloves Garlic (minced), 1 tsp Sage, 1 tsp Thyme, 1/2 tsp Salt, and 1/4 tsp Pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
  3. 3Unroll the 2 sheets of Dairy-Free Puff Pastry onto a clean, dry surface. Cut each sheet in half lengthwise, creating four long strips.
  4. 4Place a generous line of the sausage mixture down the center of each pastry strip. Leave about an inch of pastry clear on each side of the filling.
  5. 5Carefully fold the pastry over the sausage mixture. Press the edges together to seal, then use a fork to crimp and further seal the edges along the entire length of each roll.
  6. 6Cut each long sausage roll into individual portions, about 7.62-10.16 cm long. Place the individual sausage rolls onto a baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching.
  7. 7In a small bowl, lightly beat the 1 Egg. Brush the tops and sides of each sausage roll with the egg wash.
  8. 8Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up, golden brown, and the sausage filling is cooked through. The internal temperature of the sausage meat should reach 71°C.
