Ingredients

  • 3 cups Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 4 tablespoons Dairy-Free Butter

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2In a large mixing bowl, combine the 3 cups of self-raising flour and the 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir them together until well mixed.
  3. 3Gradually add the 1 cup of water to the flour mixture. Mix with your hands or a spoon until a soft, shaggy dough forms.
  4. 4Lightly dust a clean work surface with a small amount of the 3 cups of self-raising flour. Turn the dough out onto this dusted surface and knead gently for 2-3 minutes until the dough comes together into a smooth ball.
  5. 5Shape the dough into a round loaf, about 6-7 inches (15-18 cm) in diameter. Place the shaped loaf onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
  6. 6Bake the damper in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when you tap its bottom.
  7. 7Serve the damper warm, cut into wedges, with the 4 tablespoons of dairy-free butter.
