Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sunflower Seeds, raw
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Berbere Spice Blend
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2In a medium-sized bowl, combine the 1 cup of raw Sunflower Seeds, 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil, 2 teaspoons of Berbere Spice Blend, and 0.25 teaspoon of Salt. Stir these ingredients together thoroughly until the sunflower seeds are evenly coated with the oil and spices.
  3. 3Evenly spread the seasoned sunflower seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. 4Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 12 to 15 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time (after about 6-7 minutes), carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and stir the seeds with a spatula to ensure even roasting. Continue roasting until the sunflower seeds are golden brown and you can smell their fragrant, toasted aroma.
  5. 5Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the Berbere Spiced Sunflower Seeds to cool completely on the baking sheet. Cooling them fully will ensure they become crisp and crunchy.
  6. 6Once completely cool, transfer the Berbere Spiced Sunflower Seeds to an airtight container for storage or serve them immediately as a snack.
