Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 24 leaves Betel leaves
  • 2 tbsp Lemongrass, finely minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Shallots, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fish sauce substitute: Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine ground beef, lemongrass, garlic, shallots, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. 2Place a small amount of the beef mixture onto each betel leaf.
  3. 3Wrap the leaf around the beef, forming a small package. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a grill or skillet over medium heat.
  5. 5Grill or cook the beef-wrapped leaves for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked through and the leaves are slightly charred.
  6. 6Serve immediately.
