Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rolled Oats
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 cup Onion
  • 1/2 cup Tomato
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 2 tablespoons Nutritional Yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro

Instructions

  1. 1Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onion, tomato, green chili (if using), and ginger. Saute until the onion turns translucent.
  2. 2Add turmeric powder and garam masala. Saute for another minute.
  3. 3Add water and bring to a boil.
  4. 4Add rolled oats and salt. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the oats are cooked through and have absorbed most of the water.
  5. 5While the oats are cooking, prepare the tofu scramble. Crumble the tofu into a separate pan.
  6. 6Add nutritional yeast and black salt to the tofu. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly browned.
  7. 7Serve the masala oats topped with tofu scramble and garnished with chopped cilantro.
