Ingredients

  • 2 cups Potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Spices (cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Oil, for frying
  • 1 can Chickpeas, cooked
  • 1/2 cup Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Tomato, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons Mint chutney
  • 1/2 cup Plain Yogurt

Instructions

  1. 1Combine mashed potatoes, green chilies, cilantro, spices, salt, and cornstarch in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. 2Shape the mixture into small patties.
  3. 3Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the patties until golden brown on both sides.
  4. 4For the chickpea topping, sauté onion and ginger-garlic paste in a pan until golden.
  5. 5Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
  6. 6Add cooked chickpeas, spices (cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder), and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. 7Assemble the chaat by placing the potato patties on a plate, topping with chickpea curry, yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney.
