Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef
  • 4 cups Cooked white rice
  • 8 oz Mushrooms
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon Tapioca starch
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 large Eggs

Instructions

  1. 1Form ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Set aside.
  3. 3In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and diced onion. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. 4Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  5. 5Pour in beef broth and coconut aminos. Bring to a simmer.
  6. 6Whisk tapioca starch with 2 tablespoons of cold water to form a slurry. Add to the gravy and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  7. 7Fry eggs to your liking (sunny-side up is traditional).
  8. 8To assemble, place 1 cup of rice in a bowl, top with a hamburger patty, cover with mushroom gravy, and then top with a fried egg. Serve immediately.
