  • 1 large head Cabbage
  • 1.5 lbs Ground pork
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 large Onion
  • 28 oz Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Sweet paprika
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Sour cream (dairy-free)

Instructions

  1. 1Core the cabbage and blanch the whole head in boiling water for 5 minutes to soften the leaves. Carefully peel off the leaves, one by one.
  2. 2Cook the rice according to package directions.
  3. 3In a large bowl, combine ground pork, cooked rice, chopped onion, egg, smoked paprika, sweet paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. 4Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf. Roll up tightly, tucking in the sides.
  5. 5Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a large pot. Pour tomato sauce over them.
  6. 6Add enough water to cover the rolls. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 2 hours, or until cabbage is tender and meat is cooked through.
  7. 7Serve hot with dairy-free sour cream.
