Ingredients

  • about 450 g Thinly sliced ribeye beef
  • 4 tbsp Tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 small Asian pear
  • 0.5 medium Onion
  • 3 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Tapioca starch
  • 2 stalks Green onions
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1In a blender or food processor, combine the 4 tbsp of Tamari, 2 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 small Asian pear (peeled, cored, and roughly chopped), 0.5 medium onion (roughly chopped), 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1 tbsp of sesame oil, and 1 tsp of tapioca starch. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth.
  2. 2Place the about 450 g of thinly sliced ribeye beef in a bowl or resealable bag. Pour the blended marinade over the beef, ensuring all pieces are coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. 3Preheat your grill or a 30.48 cm skillet over medium-high heat. The grill grates or skillet surface should be hot to the touch.
  4. 4Remove the beef from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Grill or pan-fry the beef in batches for 1-2 minutes per side, until cooked through and slightly caramelized. The beef should have a nice brown color and a slightly chewy texture.
  5. 5While the beef is cooking, thinly slice the 2 stalks of green onions.
  6. 6Arrange the cooked beef on a serving platter. Garnish with the sliced green onions and 1 tsp of sesame seeds. Serve hot.
