Ingredients

  • 500 g Potatoes, small, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine)
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. 1Heat vegetable oil in a pot or deep pan over medium heat.
  2. 2Add the cubed potatoes and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until lightly browned.
  3. 3Add soy sauce, sugar, mirin, minced garlic, and water to the pot.
  4. 4Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  5. 5Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. 6Once the potatoes are cooked and the sauce has reduced, drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. 7Stir well to coat the potatoes with the sesame oil and seeds.
  8. 8Serve warm or at room temperature.
