Ingredients

  • about 450 g Frozen fries
  • 1/2 cup Peanut sauce (satay sauce)
  • 1/4 cup Dairy-free mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 0 Vegetable oil, for frying

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1Choose your preferred method for cooking the fries. If using an oven, preheat it to about 205°C (200°C) and spread the about 450 g frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. If deep frying, heat vegetable oil in a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 175°C. If using an air fryer, place the about 450 g frozen fries in the air fryer basket.
  2. 2Cook the about 450 g frozen fries until they are golden brown and crispy. If baking in the oven, cook for 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through. If deep frying, cook in batches for 3-5 minutes per batch, until they are golden brown and floating on the surface of the oil. If air frying, cook for 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through.
  3. 3While the fries are cooking, measure the 1/2 cup peanut sauce into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the 1/2 cup peanut sauce in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, or until it is warm and easily pourable. Stir the sauce well after heating.
  4. 4Once the fries are cooked, immediately remove them from their cooking vessel and place the hot about 450 g fries into a serving dish. Pour the warm 1/2 cup peanut sauce evenly over the fries. Drizzle the 1/4 cup dairy-free mayonnaise over the peanut sauce, then sprinkle the 1/4 cup finely chopped onion over the top.
  5. 5Serve the Dairy-Free Patatje Oorlog immediately.
