Bhatmas Sadeko (Soybean Snack)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Soybeans
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. 1Place 1 cup of soybeans into a 10-inch dry skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring often, for 15-20 minutes, or until the soybeans are golden brown and feel crunchy when you gently press one between your fingers. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  2. 2In a medium bowl, add the roasted soybeans from the skillet. Measure and add 1 tablespoon of mustard oil, 1/2 teaspoon of red chili flakes, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
  3. 3Using a spoon or your hands, toss the soybeans with the oil and spices until they are evenly coated. Ensure all the soybeans are mixed well.
  4. 4Measure and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the bowl of seasoned soybeans. Add 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro.
  5. 5Gently mix everything together until the lemon juice and cilantro are distributed throughout the soybeans.
  6. 6Serve the Bhatmas Sadeko immediately as a crunchy snack.
