Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Yerba Mate
  • 1 cup Hot Water
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Honey

Instructions

  1. 1Combine the 2 tablespoons of Yerba Mate with the 1 cup of Hot Water in a heatproof container. Let it steep for 5 minutes to create an infusion.
  2. 2Carefully strain the Yerba Mate infusion through a fine-mesh sieve directly into a mug, discarding the Yerba Mate solids. The liquid should be clear and amber in color.
  3. 3In a small saucepan, heat the 1 cup of Milk over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, or until it reaches approximately 150-160°F (65-70°C). The milk should be steaming and small bubbles will form around the edges of the pan; do not let it boil. If you have a milk frother, froth the milk until it is foamy.
  4. 4Pour the steamed 1 cup of Milk over the strained Yerba Mate infusion in the mug. If you frothed the milk, gently spoon the foam on top of the latte.
  5. 5Drizzle the 1 teaspoon of Honey into the mug. Stir gently to combine the ingredients, then serve the Yerba Mate Latte immediately.
