Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Plant-Based Milk (warmed)
  • 1/4 cup Apple Sauce (unsweetened)
  • 3 cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. 2Add warmed plant-based milk and applesauce. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. 6Punch down the dough and divide into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  7. 7Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  8. 8Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
