Ingredients

  • 1 head Large cabbage
  • 2 cups Cooked rice (long grain)
  • 2 medium Carrots
  • 1 large Onion
  • 6 oz Tomato paste
  • 4 cups Vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup Fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons Sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1Carefully remove the core of the cabbage. Place the whole cabbage in a large pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes, or until the outer leaves soften enough to be easily removed without tearing. Repeat until you have about 12-16 leaves.
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine cooked rice, grated carrots, diced onion, soy sauce, dill, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. 4Place a spoonful of the rice mixture onto each cabbage leaf. Fold the sides of the leaf inward, then roll up from the bottom.
  5. 5In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato paste. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish.
  6. 6Pour the vegetable broth over the cabbage rolls, ensuring they are mostly covered. Add the remaining tomato paste to the broth.
  7. 7Cover the dish with foil and bake for 60 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
