Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Vegan butter
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 4 large Apples
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup Aquafaba
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and baking powder. Cut in cold vegan butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 3Add chilled aquafaba and mix until dough forms. Divide in half, flatten into discs, and chill for 15 minutes
  4. 4In a separate bowl, combine sliced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and ground cloves.
  5. 5Roll out one disc of dough and place in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. 6Pour the apple filling over the crust.
  7. 7Roll out the second disc of dough and either cover the filling completely, or cut into strips and create a lattice top.
  8. 8Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
