Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 1 cup Broccoli Florets
  • 1 cup Green Beans
  • 1 cup Cabbage
  • 1 cup Bean Sprouts
  • 2 medium Potatoes
  • 0.5 large Cucumber
  • 2 large Hard-boiled Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Sunflower Seed Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Place the 1 block Firm Tofu on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Place another towel on top and press down firmly to remove excess water. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  2. 2Prepare the vegetables for steaming. Cut the 2 medium Potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Trim the ends off the 1 cup Green Beans. Cut the 1 cup Cabbage into 1-inch pieces. Separate the 1 cup Broccoli Florets.
  3. 3Steam the prepared vegetables. Place the 1 cup Broccoli Florets, 1 cup Green Beans, 1 cup Cabbage, and 2 medium Potatoes in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. 4Make the peanut-free sauce. In a blender, combine the 1/2 cup Sunflower Seed Butter, 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce, 2 tablespoons Lime Juice, 2 cloves Garlic (peeled), 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar, 1/2 teaspoon Chili Flakes, and 1/4 cup Water. Blend on high speed until the sauce is completely smooth and creamy.
  5. 5Fry the tofu. Heat 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil in a 10-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat (375°F / 190°C). Add the 1-inch cubes of tofu and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  6. 6Assemble the Gado-Gado. Arrange the steamed 1 cup Broccoli Florets, 1 cup Green Beans, 1 cup Cabbage, and 2 medium Potatoes on a large platter. Add the 1 cup Bean Sprouts, 0.5 large Cucumber (sliced), and 2 large Hard-boiled Eggs (halved or quartered) to the platter.
  7. 7Serve the Gado-Gado. Drizzle the prepared peanut-free sauce generously over the assembled salad. Serve immediately.
