Vegan Chatamari (Rice Crepe)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Urad Dal (Split Black Lentils)
  • 1/2 medium Onion
  • 1/2 medium Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1 small Green Chilies
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander Leaves
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Soak urad dal for at least 4 hours or overnight. Grind into a smooth paste.
  2. 2Mix rice flour and water to form a thin batter. Add salt.
  3. 3Heat a lightly oiled skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  4. 4Pour a ladleful of rice batter onto the hot skillet, spreading it thinly into a crepe shape.
  5. 5Spread the urad dal paste over the crepe.
  6. 6Sprinkle with onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chilies, and coriander leaves.
  7. 7Drizzle with a little vegetable oil.
  8. 8Cook until the crepe is golden brown and crispy on the bottom. Fold in half and serve hot.
