Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Vegan Vinegar
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves
  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 4 cups Cooked Rice

Instructions

  1. 1Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut into cubes.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, brown sugar, and water.
  3. 3Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add tofu and brown on all sides.
  4. 4Pour the sauce mixture over the tofu. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. 5Serve hot over cooked rice.
