Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup Dairy-free milk
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cardamom, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add the dairy-free milk, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes.
  3. 3Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into triangles or squares.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  6. 6Fry the mandazi until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. 7Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
