Ingredients

  • 4 whole Saba Bananas (or Plantains), ripe
  • 1 cup Jackfruit, canned in syrup, drained
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 8 sheets Spring Roll Wrappers
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the saba bananas (or plantains) and slice each in half lengthwise.
  2. 2Lay a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place half a banana on the wrapper, top with a spoonful of jackfruit and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  3. 3Fold the sides of the wrapper inward, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top, sealing the edge with a little water if needed.
  4. 4Repeat with the remaining bananas, jackfruit, and wrappers.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. 6Fry the turon until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. 7Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
