Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pearl barley
  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 cups Almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Chopped dates
  • 1/4 cup Chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the pearl barley under cold water.
  2. 2In a large pot, combine the barley and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the barley is tender and the liquid has mostly been absorbed.
  3. 3Stir in the almond milk, honey, and cinnamon. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the porridge is creamy and heated through.
  4. 4Serve hot, topped with chopped dates and walnuts.
