Tunisian Mloui Flatbreads with Olive Oil and Za'atar (Dairy & Egg-Free)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Semolina flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm water
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Za'atar

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, semolina flour, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle.
  5. 5Brush each circle with olive oil. Fold in half, brush again with olive oil. Fold in half again to form a smaller square.
  6. 6Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  7. 7Cook each mloui for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. 8Serve warm with olive oil and za'atar.
