Tofu Sisig (Filipino Tofu Dish)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Firm Tofu
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1/2 medium Red Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 medium Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce (or Coconut Aminos)
  • 2 tbsp Calamansi Juice (or Lemon Juice)
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 stalks Green Onions

Instructions

  1. 1Press tofu to remove excess water. Cut into small cubes.
  2. 2In a bowl, marinate tofu with soy sauce (or coconut aminos), calamansi (or lemon) juice, maple syrup, and sriracha sauce. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  3. 3Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. 4Sauté onions, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and ginger until softened.
  5. 5Add the marinated tofu to the skillet and cook until crispy and browned, stirring occasionally.
  6. 6Garnish with green onions and serve hot with rice.
