Ingredients

  • 16 oz Dairy-Free Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 medium Apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Dairy-Free Butter or Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Tapioca Starch

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium bowl, mash the 16 oz Dairy-Free Cream Cheese until it is smooth; if any excess liquid is present, drain it off. Add the 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour, 2 tablespoons Sugar, 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract, and 1/4 teaspoon Salt to the mashed cream cheese, then mix gently with a spoon until all ingredients are just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  2. 2Scoop out portions of the cream cheese mixture and gently shape them into small, round patties, each approximately 2 inches in diameter.
  3. 3Peel, core, and chop the 3 medium Apples into 1/2-inch pieces. Place the chopped apples in a medium saucepan with the 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of water, then cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes, or until the apples are very soft and have broken down into a sauce; add a little more water if the sauce becomes too dry.
  4. 4In a small bowl, whisk the 1 tablespoon Tapioca Starch with 2 tablespoons of cold water until smooth to create a slurry. Stir this tapioca starch slurry into the apple sauce in the saucepan, then continue to cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce visibly thickens.
  5. 5In a large non-stick skillet, heat the 2 tablespoons Dairy-Free Butter or Oil over medium heat until it reaches approximately 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the syrniki patties into the hot skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan, and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are a beautiful golden brown and cooked through, with a gentle sizzle audible as they cook.
  6. 6Remove the cooked syrniki from the skillet and transfer them to a plate. Serve the warm syrniki immediately with the prepared apple sauce.
