Swiss Chard and Potato Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Swiss chard
  • 1.5 lb Potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Grated Gruyère cheese
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2Wash and chop the Swiss chard. Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
  3. 3In a skillet, melt butter and sauté chopped onion and garlic until softened.
  4. 4In a bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  5. 5In a baking dish, layer the potatoes, Swiss chard, and sautéed onion and garlic. Pour the cream mixture over the layers.
  6. 6Sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese and bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
