Ingredients

  • 40 Grape Leaves (fresh or jarred)
  • 1 cup Quinoa (cooked)
  • 1/2 Onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Dill (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Mint (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

  1. 1If using jarred grape leaves, rinse them thoroughly. If using fresh, blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes to soften.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine cooked quinoa, onion, dill, mint, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. 3Lay a grape leaf flat on a surface, vein-side up. Place a spoonful of quinoa filling in the center.
  4. 4Fold the sides of the leaf inward, then roll up from the bottom to form a tight roll.
  5. 5Line the bottom of a pot with a few grape leaves to prevent sticking.
  6. 6Arrange the stuffed grape leaves tightly in the pot.
  7. 7Pour water over the grape leaves, ensuring they are submerged. Place a plate on top to weigh them down.
  8. 8Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 40-45 minutes, or until the grape leaves are tender.
  9. 9Let cool slightly before serving.
