Sri Lankan Milk Toffee (Aluwa)

A sweet and creamy fudge-like dessert made with rice flour, coconut milk, and sugar, flavored with cardamom.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Grease a baking tray or dish with vegetable oil.
  2. 2In a pan, mix together rice flour and coconut milk until there are no lumps.
  3. 3Add sugar and water to the pan.
  4. 4Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan (about 20-30 minutes).
  5. 5Stir in the cardamom powder.
  6. 6Pour the mixture into the greased tray and spread evenly.
  7. 7Let it cool completely before cutting into squares.
