Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh Okra
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (dairy-free, nut-free)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3 cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup Dairy-Free Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1Wash and dry the okra. Trim the ends and cut into sticks.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine cornstarch, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. 3Toss the okra sticks in the cornstarch mixture to coat evenly.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. 5Fry the okra sticks in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. 6Remove okra from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7Prepare the dairy-free dipping sauce: In a bowl, combine dairy-free yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, and hot sauce.
  8. 8Serve the okra fries immediately with the dairy-free dipping sauce.
