Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Instant Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.5 cups Warm Water
  • 3 cups Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add warm water, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
  3. 3Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. 6Wet your hands with water. Take a small ball of dough, make a hole in the center, and stretch it into a ring shape.
  7. 7Carefully drop the donut into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  8. 8Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. 9Serve warm, sprinkled with sugar or drizzled with honey.
