Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 medium Carrots
  • 1 medium Potatoes
  • 1/2 medium Onions
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Curry Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine flour, vegetable shortening, and salt. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Prepare the filling: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until softened.
  3. 3Add diced carrots, potatoes, and green peas to the skillet. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. 4Stir in curry powder, garlic powder, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. 5Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.
  6. 6Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
  7. 7Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. 8Serve warm.
