Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh Sardines (cleaned)
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. This is about 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2Take the 1 lb of cleaned fresh sardines and sprinkle them evenly on all sides with the 2 tablespoons of coarse sea salt.
  3. 3Place the salted sardines on the preheated grill. Grill for 3 to 5 minutes on the first side. You'll know they are ready to flip when the skin starts to look slightly charred and releases easily from the grill grates.
  4. 4Flip the sardines and grill for another 3 to 5 minutes on the second side. The sardines are cooked through when the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  5. 5Carefully remove the grilled sardines from the grill.
  6. 6Serve the Sardinhas Assadas immediately while they are hot and the skin is crispy.
