Samin Bread (Saudi Butter Bread)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Instant Yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm Water
  • 1/2 cup Samin (Clarified Butter), melted
  • 1 tablespoon Black Seeds (Nigella seeds)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2Add the warm water and melted samin and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. 6Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces.
  7. 7Roll each piece into a round shape and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. 8Brush the tops of the breads with melted samin and sprinkle with black seeds.
  9. 9Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. 10Serve warm.
