Ingredients

  • 4 medium Potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small Onion, grated
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Potato starch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1Grate the potatoes and onion using a box grater.
  2. 2Place the grated potatoes and onion in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  3. 3In a bowl, combine the squeezed potatoes and onion with flour, potato starch, salt, and pepper.
  4. 4Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. 5Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening them slightly.
  6. 6Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. 7Remove the draniki from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. 8Serve hot with dairy-free sour cream or applesauce.
