Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Bengal Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine rice flour, besan, butter, sesame seeds, red chili powder, asafoetida, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add water and mix to form a smooth, pliable dough.
  3. 3Load the dough into a chakli maker with a star-shaped disc.
  4. 4Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai over medium heat.
  5. 5Press the chakli directly into the hot oil in a circular motion.
  6. 6Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  7. 7Remove and drain on paper towels. Let cool completely before storing.
