Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 3 cups Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant dry yeast, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  2. 2Gradually add 1 cup of warm water to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms. The batter should be slightly thick but still pourable.
  3. 3Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the batter has doubled in size.
  4. 4Pour 3 cups of vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or pot. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. 5Using a spoon or your hands, carefully drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  6. 6Fry the puff puff for 3-5 minutes, turning them occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides and float to the surface.
  7. 7Remove the puff puff from the hot oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  8. 8Serve the puff puff warm.
