Pork Sisig with Tofu

A vegan and gluten-free version of the popular Filipino dish, Sisig, using tofu and gluten-free soy sauce alternative for a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Extra Firm Tofu
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 small Chili Peppers
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Aminos
  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 tbsp Vegan Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Press the tofu to remove excess water. Dice into small pieces.
  2. 2In a large skillet, sauté the diced tofu over medium-high heat until golden brown and crispy.
  3. 3Add the diced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. 4Stir in the minced ginger and chili peppers.
  5. 5Pour in the coconut aminos and lime juice. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. 6Remove from heat and mix in the vegan mayonnaise.
  7. 7Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and a lime wedge.
