Ingredients

  • 3 large Ripe plantains
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the 3 large ripe plantains. Cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
  2. 2Pour the 1/2 cup of vegetable oil into a large skillet. Heat the oil over medium heat, which is about 350°F (175°C).
  3. 3Carefully place the plantain slices into the hot oil. Do not put too many in at once; they should have space between them. Fry the plantains for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. You will know they are ready when they are golden brown and look caramelized.
  4. 4Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the plantains from the skillet. Place them on a plate that has been covered with paper towels. Let them sit for a minute to allow the paper towels to soak up extra oil.
  5. 5Serve the platanos maduros immediately.
