Ingredients

  • 3 large Ripe Plantains
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the 3 large Ripe Plantains and slice them diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  2. 2Place a 10-inch skillet on the stovetop and add the 2 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil. Heat the oil over medium heat, which is about 350°F (175°C).
  3. 3Carefully place the sliced plantains into the hot oil in a single layer. Fry the plantain slices for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. You are looking for them to become golden brown and caramelized, which means they will be soft and slightly sweet-smelling.
  4. 4Once the plantains are golden brown and caramelized on both sides, use tongs to remove them from the skillet. Place the cooked plantains onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  5. 5Serve the Platanos Maduros warm.
