Phapar Ko Roti (Buckwheat Flatbread)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Buckwheat flour
  • 3/4 cup Water, lukewarm
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Ghee or oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, combine buckwheat flour and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add lukewarm water, mixing with your hands to form a soft, pliable dough. The dough should not be too sticky.
  3. 3Cover the dough and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  4. 4Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
  5. 5On a lightly floured surface, roll out each portion into a thin, circular flatbread, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
  6. 6Heat a flat griddle or tawa over medium heat.
  7. 7Place the rolled-out flatbread on the hot griddle and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until small bubbles start to appear and the roti turns light brown.
  8. 8Brush the roti with ghee or oil and cook for another minute on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. 9Remove from the griddle and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  10. 10Serve hot as a side dish.
