Ingredients

  • 1 lb Firm Tofu
  • 4 pieces Banana Leaves
  • 2 stalks Lemongrass
  • 4 leaves Kaffir Lime Leaves
  • 3 small Red Chilies
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 3 small Shallots
  • 1 inch Turmeric
  • 3 pieces Candlenuts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Crumble tofu in a bowl.
  2. 2In a food processor or blender, combine red chilies, garlic, shallots, turmeric, candlenuts, vegetable oil, salt and sugar. Blend into a smooth paste.
  3. 3Mix the spice paste with the crumbled tofu.
  4. 4Cut banana leaves into squares. Place a portion of the tofu mixture on each square, along with a stalk of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves.
  5. 5Wrap the banana leaves tightly to form packets. Secure with toothpicks.
  6. 6Steam the packets for 30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  7. 7Serve hot with rice.
