Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 6 slices Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate saucepan, heat milk and vegetable oil until lukewarm. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  2. 2Knead Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  3. 3Shape Pandesal: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten slightly. Roll each flattened dough ball into bread crumbs, coating evenly.
  4. 4Bake Pandesal: Place the pandesal on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. 5Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. 6Add Cheese: Remove from oven. Slice each pandesal in half and add a slice of cheddar cheese. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Serve warm.
