Pandesal (Filipino Bread Rolls)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Instant Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. 2Heat milk and vegetable oil until lukewarm. Add to the dry ingredients and mix well to form a dough.
  3. 3Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. 5Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions.
  6. 6Roll each portion into a log and then roll in breadcrumbs.
  7. 7Cut the logs into individual rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
  8. 8Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. 9Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
