Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bread Slices
  • 1/2 cup Plant-Based Milk (Soy, Oat, or Rice)
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Seed Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Vegan Butter or Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a shallow dish, whisk together the 1/2 cup Plant-Based Milk, 1 tablespoon Sunflower Seed Butter, 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup, 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract, and 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon until well combined.
  2. 2Dip each of the 4 slices Bread Slices into the mixture, letting each side soak for about 30 seconds until the bread is well saturated.
  3. 3Heat the 1 tablespoon Vegan Butter or Oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, which is about 350°F (175°C).
  4. 4Carefully place the soaked bread slices into the hot skillet. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until the slices are golden brown and appear puffed.
  5. 5Remove the cooked Pain Perdu from the skillet and serve immediately.
