Ingredients

  • 3 large Overripe plantains
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 small Onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/8 small Scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1Peel and mash the overripe plantains in a bowl.
  2. 2Add flour, chopped onion, ginger, scotch bonnet pepper (optional), and salt to the mashed plantains.
  3. 3Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5Drop spoonfuls of the plantain mixture into the hot oil to form pancakes.
  6. 6Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  7. 7Remove the tatale from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  8. 8Serve hot.
